We have been present in the Chinese market with a liaison office since 1999, first in Beijing and effective April 1st, 2005 in Shanghai. Our objective is not only to intensify existing contacts with Chinese manufacturers of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and intermediates, with state-owned import and export companies, and with research institutes, but also to expand our purchasing volume in China.
With our presence on the spot we want to enable our clients in Europe and the USA to source raw materials and intermediates, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and pharmaceutical specialities from reliable Chinese manufacturers with the usual Midas transparency. Our know-how regarding the requirements of the pharmaceutical markets in Europe and the USA decisively contributes to our success in creating long-term partnerships with selected and quality-conscious Chinese manufacturers. This will be strongly supported by our regulatory competence in compiling DMFs, applying for CEPs of the EDQM as well as preparing our Chinese partners to successfully pass the inspection of health authorities from Europe and the USA.
What we plan to do.
The Chinese economy is opening up more and more. The national Chinese Health Authority (SDA) is striving to make local producers of finished dosage forms and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients cGMP-compliant. All this offers Midas new opportunities in the Chinese market. The focused development of selected Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients will therefore become one additional key activity for us in China in the mid- and long term, together with the development of registrations files in compliance with EU- and US-requirements and the manufacture of finished dosage forms.
