The Company:
Inalco, incorporated in the early 70s, has its headquarters in Milan, Italy. It wholly owns three manufacturing sites in Tuscany, not far from Florence and is a leading manufacturer of Lactulose in liquid and dry form. Its capacity amounts to several thousand tons per year. Lactulose is a disaccharide and is sold world-wide by many pharmaceutical companies, both as a prescription drug and a generic product, with two main indications: constipation and hepatic failures (e.g. hepatic encephalopathy).
On the basis of the expertise available in terms of simple and complex carbohydrate chemistry, Inalco offers contract manufacturing and custom synthesis in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. Furthermore, Inalco is developing special polysaccharides with indications targeted at anti-coagulant, antiviral and anti-cancer activities.
The Inalco programme also comprises an entire portfolio of products for use in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry and histochemistry.
