The Company:
BASF Pharma (Evionnaz) SA – previously Orgamol S.A. – conducts exclusive custom synthesis projects for many global pharmaceutical companies. Another focus is the production of leading generic APIs according to current standards. Approximately 70 % of BASF Pharma's activities involve customised projects and 30 % involve standard products.

Orgamol was founded in 1952 in Nyon, Switzerland by two chemists, Dr. Molnar and Dr. Wittwer. The main goal at that time was to provide fine chemicals to the Swiss pharmaceutical industry. In 1954 Orgamol became a public company. Three years later the production was moved to Evionnaz near Lac Lemand. In 1994 a new chemical production site came online in St. Vulbas near Lyon, France.
Orgamol was acquired by BASF in October 2005 and is operating today under the name BASF Pharma (Evionnaz) SA. Today, BASF Pharma (Evionnaz) SA employs 450 people.
The total chemical reactor capacity is approximately 600 m³.

Specific Strengths:

The last FDA inspection took place in 2001. For the company, the need for cGMP conformity and ISO certification is self-evident, from lab to kilo scale and from pilot to industrial scale manufacture.
