Kirsten Waffenschmidt talks about her 10 years of experience in marketing and sales at Midas Pharma.

Kirsten Waffenschmidt recently celebrated her 10th anniversary at Midas Pharma. She works in the marketing & sales team and has been supporting Midas Pharma as Inside Sales Manager for 10 years now. She particularly appreciates the friendly and helpful interaction in the team.

How long have you been with Midas and in which area do you work?

I have been working at Midas in the Marketing & Sales department since the end of 2011.

 

What does a working day look like for you? What are your tasks?

As Inside Sales Manager, I mainly deal with the concerns of our customers who place their questions by phone or by e-mail. This involves orders for active pharmaceutical ingredients that have to be processed, ordered and delivered, the required documentation on the QM side or regulatory requirements that have to be covered. Coordination with the manufacturing partners and forwarding agents is a key task and checking on special features to be considered for certain materials. In addition, there are many small and large projects that we work on, developing new sales ideas, working out improvements in the merchandise management system, supporting cross-divisional issues, etc.

 

What personal qualities do you have that are helpful in your job?

I think I already have gained a considerable amount of resilience throughout my professional career. That helps to stay calm in tricky situations and to figure out the priorities. Of course, it also involves knowing how to approach people and get them on board to achieve a common goal or solve a problem.

How would you describe the working atmosphere at Midas?

I can clearly say that I have rarely experienced such a friendly working atmosphere in a company as I have at Midas. All colleagues are open and helpful in answering questions or offering help and support.

What do you enjoy most about the job? What have been the highlights for you in the last 10 years?

Most enjoyable is working with clients who value Midas' work and developing more joint projects on that basis. There is also always the opportunity to learn about new topics, like pharmaceuticals, chemistry or the regulatory side of the business.

Highlights for me have been the successful trade fairs I have organised in recent years for the marketing & sales of chemicals or intermediates. They were great locations, exhausting trade fair days and great customer events.
