Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine derivative that can also be given to children. It is used in all forms of epilepsy. The GABA releasing effect provides the convulsive effect, which can also be used for REM sleep disorders. Here, the low dosage allows long-term use with minimal tolerance formation, but there is a risk of addiction. It can also be used with Tourette's, the "restless leg" syndrome and other obsessive-compulsive disorder.
