Lormetazepam is a medium to long-acting benzodiazepine derivative that quickly floods. This allows the use before surgery, but also in sleep disorders. Since it can take over a few weeks to addiction, it should be used only for a short time. Lormetazepam is mainly excreted renally after it has been metabolised in the liver. The substance is not degraded there by the cytochrome P450. This brings a better compatibility, since no interactions with substances acting on the enzyme are expected.
